Certifications & Testing
Compliant for the markets you sell in
Rugs and mats sold in the US, EU and UK have to meet safety rules, and many retailers and marketplaces ask for test reports. We arrange the tests at accredited third-party labs and supply the documents with your order.
What We Can Provide
Standards and tests we support
| Standard | Market | Applies to | What it checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16 CFR 1630 / 1631 (Flammable Fabrics Act) | United States | All rugs and textile floor mats | Surface flammability ("pill test"). Required for every carpet and rug sold in the US; a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) is issued on a passing report. |
| CPSIA / Children's Product Certificate | United States | Designs made for children 12 and under | Lead content in accessible parts and tracking labels, tested at a CPSC-accepted lab. |
| Textile labelling (16 CFR 303) | United States | All textile products | Fibre content and care labelling to FTC rules. |
| California Proposition 65 | California, US | All products | Listed chemicals such as lead and certain phthalates in prints and backings. |
| EU REACH | European Union | All products | Restricted substances including azo dyes, phthalates and substances of very high concern (SVHC). |
| EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) | European Union | All consumer products | Safety documentation, traceability and product labelling for the EU market. |
| OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 | Worldwide (voluntary) | Textile products | Independent testing for harmful substances; a label many retailers and marketplaces ask for. |
| Food-contact migration (FDA / EU 10/2011 / LFGB) | US, EU | Dish drying mats | Migration of substances from materials that touch clean dishes and glasses. |
| Performance tests (ISO 105 / AATCC, slip resistance) | All markets | Bath and kitchen mats | Colourfastness to rubbing and washing, slip resistance and size stability after washing. |
How It Works
Testing arranged for your order
- Tell us your target market and sales channel; we recommend the tests it requires
- Testing at accredited labs such as SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas or TÜV
- Typically 5–10 working days, run alongside sampling so it doesn't delay your order
- Reports can be issued in your company name when your platform requires it
Good To Know
Certificates are per product
- Reports cover a specific material, construction and colour range, so new materials or custom designs may need their own test
- Testing cost is quoted with your order and depends on the number of products and tests
- US children's designs must be tested before they are sold; we plan this into the sample stage
